More DC Rebirth News Including a List of Series

Today DC Comics revealed details on their “Rebirth” details which sounds like it’ll blend the old and the new to bring a new direction for the DC Universe. It’s no more a reboot than All-New, All-Different was.

Geoff Johns who is guiding a lot of this also has teased the opening line of the DC Universe: Rebirth one-shot launching the new direction on May 25:

I love this world… But there’s something missing…

A special event revealing all talent and creative teams is scheduled to take place at WonderCon in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, March 26. This press conference will be live-streamed on the DC Entertainment’s YouTube channel, so everyone can experience firsthand all of the exciting new details surrounding REBIRTH.

  • This concerns me rather than excites, mainly because there are an awful lot of twice-monthly titles and I’m not convinced the quality can be maintained on any of the books due to deadlines. Look at the current Geoff Johns/Jason Fabok Justice League monthly series as an example, often delayed but the end result is always a high quality comic book with a great story bolstered by sublime art.

    • I’m in complete agreement on this. I’ve rarely read a comic that’s out more than once a month that hasn’t felt like the quality has dipped a bit. The logic I’d guess is completely a dollars and market share. Instead of 40,000 comics at $2.99 a month, it’s 80,000 (which doesn’t account for dips). They’re making more money and unit numbers get inflated.

      • Very true, a sad day for good comics really but at the end of the day it’s an industry that’s never been bigger and as you cite a matter of economics.
