When a young comic shop employee is transformed by mystical blades into a walking talking (and slicing & dicing) 90s comic book bad girl, she must quickly learn how to survive the new grotesque world the blades reveal. Now, other-dimensional parasites hidden all around us resembling the “space vampires” from the 90s comic, Vampblade, are all too real, and out for her blood!

Violence, gore, brief nudity, and the occasional humorous reference to genitals makes this premiere issue, Vampblade #1, amusing and action-filled. Take a normal girl, give her mystical weapons on the wall in the comic book store she works at, and a murder of the owner. All that starts, than a normal, geek life takes a massive dive into the strange world of a scantly clad protagonist, and strange demon worms. The blades are somehow alive, for reasons that have yet to be disclosed. Curious as to see how this story unfolds, as everything I imagine gets stranger.

The art is a little cartoon-ish for my taste, but oddly enough that works in its favor.  Than again they manage to feature odd worm like, with large pincers, so what do I know. If you look closely you notice recreations of various comic book covers in the early panels. Some of the serious are well known, others are quite the opposite.
