Producer/Scholar Takamasa Sakurai to Return for Otakon 2015

takamasa_sakuraiProducer, writer, digital Hollywood university and graduate school special professor Takamasa Sakurai has signed on with Otakorp Inc. to return to Otakon 2015 after his first appearance last year. Sakurai is the International Otaku Expo Association executive director.

After graduating from Waseda University with a political economy major, Sakurai worked in publishing as an editor. Since then, Sakurai has produced and directed various media and events. At over 140 cities from over 25 countries, Sakurai hosts lectures, fashion shows, and other cultural foreign exchange activities. Sakurai serves as the board member for Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anime Foreign Affairs and Pop Culture (Fashion) outbound promotion. Sakurai is also the producer for the “Kawaii Ambassador” program launched by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Sakurai is a pioneer of cultural diplomacy, using anime, fashion and music. Sakurai is often invited as a guest to Japanese culture events around the world. In addition, he has written many books and serves as a radio personality and television commentator.

Otakon 2015 will be held July 24-26 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, MD. Otakon 2015 is celebrating fairy tales, folk stories, myths, and legends.
