  • Curious – for someone who hasn’t followed comics particvularly for years, whay might you recommend?

    • When anyone asks that question, the first thing I ask is what types of books, movies, or television shows interest you?

      • I like sci fi, did lots of d&d – helpful?

        • Actually lots. For D&D, there’s Dungeons & Dragons Legends of Baldur’s Gate by IDW. Dynamite does comics based on Pathfinder. The one I’d recommend the most is Skullkickers by Image. And there’s also Knights of the Dinner Table which follows a group’s D&D game. There’s just tons of D&D-like fantasy comics our there too like Rat Queens, The Autumnland: Tooth & Claw, and a few others. Out of those I’d recommend Skullkickers and Rat Queens.

Sci fi, there’s really a comic no matter your tastes. Comics based on Battlestar Galactica and Firefly exist. There’s books like Cyclops, or X-O Manowar, or Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers. Sci fi is so broad, there’s just so much out there to choose from.

The best is to go to a local comic shop and just see what’s out there. If there shop is decent, they’ll be able to help you out with suggestions, plus you can actually look at the items instead of just taking a shot with a digital copy.
