Graphic Policy’s Top Comic Picks this Week!

EastofWest16_CoverWednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in! Below are ten suggestions of comics, graphic novels, or trade paperbacks you should spend some extra time checking out and think about picking up.

It’s the end of the year, which means there’s not much coming out this week, you can get everything for about $75. So, instead of our usual 10 picks, just get everything…. but if you still need some help…..

Dark Horse

The Massive Vol. 4: Sahara – Brian Wood’s series wrapped up, but you can catch some of the final issues here in this volume where all of the pieces of the puzzle come together.

X Vol. 4 Better Off Dead – X is back, and this violent ant-hero has been a welcome return. If you haven’t checked out what you’re missing, here’s a great way to see.

DC Comics

Batman Eternal #39 – DC’s weekly series will all lead to next year’s even Convergence… so, this’ll be important.

The New 52: Futures End #35 – See above.

Star Trek/Planet of the Apes #1 – Two classic properties team up! Can’t wait to see how…

East of West #16 – Are you reading this sci-fi western? You’re not? Yeah, you should fix that.

Image Firsts: Wytches #1 – This horror series from Scott Snyder is on a lot of “best of” lists. This reprint costs a dollar. That plus the fact there’s not much out means this is a “buy.”

Marvel

All-New Miracleman Annual #1 – A bunch of creators taken on the classic character in new stories.

S.H.I.E.L.D. #1 – With the second season of the television series in a fall hiatus, Marvel finally releases a comic that sort of ties into it.

Abigail and the Snowman #1 – Roger Langridge’s cute new series.

Valiant

X-O Manowar #31 – Check out the kick-ass series of the displaced hero.
