The Flash and iZombie Picked Up

dc comic logoIt was announced today that the televisions station The CW has added two more comic book based shows to their 2014-15 schedule. The Arrow spin-off The Flash is getting the go ahead. That one isn’t a shock at all, as the character Barry Allen has appeared on the CW’s successful series Arrow. Like Arrow, this show will be an origin story of the character and is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns, who penned the pilot.

Also getting the nod is iZombie which is being penned by Veronica Mars‘ Rob Thomas and Dian Ruggiero. The show is about a medical student turned zombie who is forced to work in a coroner’s office. She takes the job to get access to brains, but when she eats those brains, she gets the person’s memories and uses that to help solve murders. The show is based on the comic by DC Comics’ imprint Vertigo that was created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred.

So that’s two more DC Comics based series coming to television this fall, three total on network television alone with Fox’s announced Gotham based on Batman.
