Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Debuts Strong Amidst Tough Competition
Last night’s debut of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC face stiff competition, going up against the second night of The Voice on NBC as well as the ratings monster NCIS over on CBS. The debut drew 11.9 million viewers. The other two drew 12.7 million and 19.5 million. Though S.H.I.E.L.D. came in third for overall viewers, it tied with The Voice as Tuesday’s number one series in the coveted 18-49 demographic. Each for a 4.6 rating.
S.H.I.E.L.D. was the top premiere on any network since 2009’s V which also aired on ABC and the best for the 8pm slot since Lost way back in 2004.
The show won’t be facing The Voice for long, as it was airing a special 2 hour show. Overall, not bad for the show’s debut.
