Michael Rooker Added To Wizard World Austin Lineup

Michael Rooker, who currently plays Merle Dixon on the hit AMC series The Walking Dead, will be appearing as a guest roster at Wizard World Austin Comic Con, set for Oct. 26-28, 2012, at the Austin Convention Center. Rooker, who burst on the scene more than two decades ago in the title role in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, also will attend Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con, Nov. 30 – Dec. 2, 2012.

Rooker also had key roles in Sylvester Stallone’s 1993 hit Cliffhanger and the Denzel Washington/Angelina Jolie blockbuster The Bone Collector in 1999, as well as popular films such as Mississippi Burning, Sea of Love and Days of Thunder.  While many have fit the brute, villain and psychopath type, he has also shown versatility in numerous “good guy” roles in his career.

Fans of The Walking Dead will have the unique opportunity to catch both Rooker and Norman Reedus, who plays Merle Dixon’s brother, Daryl.  The two will pose for dual photo ops with fans at Austin Comic Con.

Rooker’s addition complements well the standout list of stars at Austin Comic Con that boasts seven principles from “Star Trek: The Next Generation” on its first 25-year U.S. reunion, including Patrick Stewart, Eliza Dushku, WWE® Superstar CM Punk®, Dean Cain, Anthony Michael Hall and the Boondock Saints trio of Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery and David Della Rocco, among others.
