Spider-Man Does Well in It’s Monday Midnight Showing
The Amazing Spider-Man looks to have brought in about $7.5 million at it’s Monday midnight showings. The falls short of The Avengers which made $18.5 million. The film’s IMAX screenings last night brought in $1.2 million on 300 screens.
According to the Hollywood Reporter:
Sony was pleased that Amazing Spider-Man … matched the midnight earnings of Spider-Man 3, which debuted over the May 4-6 weekend in 2007. The threequel debuted to $151.1 million, then the highest three-day opening of all time.
The Amazing Spider-Man is expected to pull in somewhere in the $110 million to $120 million range domestically during its current six-day holiday debut.
