SDCC 2012 – Rigamortis: A Zombie Love Story at SDCC 2012

Expect a deluge of press releases and information about San Diego Comic-Con 2012 this week.  I’ll start it off with this entertaining notice. Rigamortis: A Zombie Love Story will be screeing on Friday July 13th at 6:15 PM as a part of the San Diego Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival. After the 36 min screening there will be a 15 min question and answer session with Maxwell Glick, Ted Campbell, Dave Dewes and Matt Olson. All principle cast and crew will be in attendance on Friday as well. Rigamortis: A Zombie Love Story observes the aftermath of a zombie outbreak from the perspective of the last two remaining zombies as they sing and dance their way to freedom from an overly determined zombie hunter with a little too much to prove.

Rigamortis premiered at the 2011 Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival, walking away with the Audience Choice Award. The film then went on to its world premiere on YouTube and the film’s website, www.RigamortisMovie.com. It was then accepted and awarded prizes at both the 2011 and 2012 Phoenix Comicon. In addition, Rigamortis screened at Houston’s 2011 Comicpalooza, 2011 and 2012 GenCon Indy, and 2011 Dragon*Con, as well as various film festivals across the country.

Chicago-based production company Collateral Damage Productions, which has produced several award winning features and shorts, utilized micro-funding for this independent short film. Soon after completion the project was picked up by web entertainment distributor powerhouse New Video Group. Rigamortis is now available in HD on the iTunes Store.

Rigamortis: A Zombie Love Story is a comedic musical short produced by Jenny Stolte and Matt Olson and written by Dave Dewes. Dave also co-directed the film with Los Angeles director Ted Campbell. The lyrics and music are written by composer/comedian Greg Szydlowski who runs the comedy website PrettySpecialRecords.com.
