The Avengers Drops to Fifth

The Avengers has dropped to fifth place this past weekend with an estimated $10,809,000 at the box office, that’s a 47.2% drop from the previous week.  The film continues to do well in the per screen average of $3,454 and is being seen on 3,129 screens.

That’s still solid after so many weeks, but expect that to drop as more big summer movies come out.  We’ve got Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Rock of Ages, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises.  Those blockbuster screens need to come from somewhere.

The domestic total of the movie is $571.86 million. That accounts for just 41% of the film’s $1.396 billion global take.  The movie continues to sit in third place overall both domestically and internationally.  That’s not adjusted for inflation.
