Captain America: The First Avenger Tops Box Office
A review is forthcoming, but it seems folks enjoyed Captain America: The First Avenger. The movie debuted with an estimated earned an estimated $65.8 million which makes it the top “comic book movie” debut of the year so far. It barely beat Thor which brought in $65.7 million. Captain America though actually brought in more people than that movie. Only 40% of Cap’s total came from 3-D showings compared with 60% of the Norse God’s number.
The movies was mainly male, with 64% and 57% of the audience was over the age of 25.
Up this week is Cowboys & Aliens, another comic book movie, so we’ll see how the star spangled sentinel holds up to that competition.
