  • Palo is an excellent artist that simply needs a new colorist to better highlight the intricacies of his work… But other than that, his work on the panther has been incredible. That skrull war Palo did caught my eye and I’ve been amazed ever since. He does a good job with black faces (noses & lips), black women’s hips (I know we like to think in a colorblind society but there are subtle, visual signatures of race that should be acknowledged), and black historical references (i.e. Black Panther looking like Malcolm X in this Daredevil run, the conceptual grandfather of the Black Panther Party).
I hope this new title lives up to the moniker…”the most dangerous man alive,” and it’s not just hyperbole. Lastly, please give the man back his powers, status, and wealth… The Panther has done well with a fraction of the power of other Marvel heroes, but not only is it time, but wouldn’t be interesting to go the other way? What would happen if he became one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel universe? Do what DC hasn’t, take a hero that doesn’t need his powers to remain a relevant figure, and give him more than Superman/Thor… What would he do? What things/goals/plans would he develop?
