It’s the first week of the new year and here’s what I’m expecting to be the best books of the week.  My top pick is 27 #2.  We really dug Charles Soule’s first issue of this limited series and I’m sure the second issue will be just as solid.  Here’s our top five potential books.

1. 27 #2 – Loved the first issue and I’m sure the second won’t disappoint.
2. The Walking Dead #80 – Eighty issues in and Robert Kirkman’s series is as solid as ever.
3. Green Hornet #12 – Phil Hester has taken over for Kevin Smith with his first excellent issue picking up where Smith left off.
4. The Avengers: Children’s Crusade #4 – I’ve dug the first three issues and really want to see where this goes.  There’s potential for some major ramifications.
5. Thanos Imperative: Devastation – I want to see what’s next as there’s still so many questions left unanswered now that DnA’s latest epic has concluded.

Long Shot: Who is Jake Ellis #1 – I have no idea what this is about, but it’s cover caught my eye.
