Comics Retailer Stand-Off

SWATThe Comics Reporter brought us this news from St. Louis.  A comic book store owner ended a stand-off with police after 3.5 hours.  Kenneth McClure who owns Legend Comics & Sports Cards surrendered to police short after 9 PM.  The stand-off began a bit after 5 PM.

The place of business was also his residence and police had gone there to arrest McClure for charges of first-degree statutory rape, third-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.  An armed McClure refused to comply which lead to a SWAT team arriving along with a negotiator.  The street was also blocked off.

Police told the local media that incident for which McClure was arrested involved a 13-year-old girl not related to the retailer. Bail was set at $75,000.
