I was nervous going into this second issue as I never read the first.  There’s no need to worry about that when it comes to Broken Trinity: Pandora’s Box #2.  The issue begins with a handy page in the that gives a bit of what was missed in the first issue and the story itself is very straight forward and surprisingly entertaining.

The series sees two individuals searching for a man named Elias who wants Padora’s Box to bring about Armageddon.  The two are enemies, forced to deal with each other to face a bigger enemy.  It’s pretty straight forward.  The story by Rob Levin and Bryan Edward Hill is entertaining and has a world globe trotting feel to it.  The action scenes are decent enough and banter fun.  The art by Alessandro Vitti is a pleasure to look at.

The issue is entertaining and series has a very nice “world’s going to end, globe trotting” feel to it.  This issue alone takes you all over the place including Moscow and Tunisia.  This is a big action movie in comic book form.  Entertainment for entertainment’s sake.  And when it’s done well like this, you can’t ask for much more.

Plot: Rob Levin and Bryan Edward Hill put out an entertaining story.  As stated above this has a big action movie feel to it and some times that’s all you need.  We’re not talking Shakespeare here or deep character development, but that’s not what I was expecting.  I want some fun banter, great action and fights with cool poses.  The two pull it all off quite well.  Enough so, I’m looking forward to issue three.  Rating: 8

Art: Alessandro Vitti’s art is beautiful and entertaining to look at.  The detail is just enough and you get the great action poses when you expect them.  The art teams up perfectly and the style matches the writing.  Rating: 8.5

Overall: I was definitely nervous not knowing what to expect with the issue.  It’s fun, entertaining, and worth the read.  It’s the quality I’ve come to expect when reading a Top Cow product.  I’m relatively new to the Top Cow universe, but count me hooked and wanting to find out more.  Overall Rating: 8.25
