With the help of Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko the man born Stanley Martin Lieber helped create comic book legends such as Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, and many other fictional characters, introducing real world pathos and problems into their super lives.

Comic book writer and editor and former President and the chairman of Marvel Comics Stan Lee turns 87 today.  He was born in 1922 in New York City.  Lee has appeared in over 25 movies on top of his comic work and has confirmed he’ll appear in the upcoming Thor movie.
