The big news when it came to X-Men Origins: Wolverine wasn’t how much the movie sucked (words just can’t show how much of a fail it was), it was the fact an unfinished copy of the movie hit the internet before the movies release.

Gilberto Sanchez, 47, was arrested in the Bronx, N.Y., early Wednesday morning by FBI agents without incident, law enforcement sources told CNET. The FBI’s Los Angeles field office, which led the investigation, confirmed the arrest.  Sanchez is accused of uploading the film to file-sharing network Megaupload.com.

The grand jury indictment does not indicate where Sanchez obtained the copy of the movie.  Sanchez is not being accused of being the main source for the original leak and there’s a possibility of other arrests in the case.

Some estimates say the film has been download over 4.1 million times.  It’s unknown if the leak affected the movies overall take.  It still opened up at #1 with an $85 million take over the opening weekend.

If convicted, Sanchez faces up to three years in prison and a $250,000 fine, or twice the gross gain or gross loss attributable to the offense, whichever is greater.
