Comics Lead to Thief
I swear “comic theft” stories come in groups. Coming out of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Cody Arledge, 19, was charged with residential burglary, theft of property, and criminal mischief. His bond was set at $5,000.
Arledge allegedly broke into a home on November 17 and several items, including a collection of old comic books, had been taken. Many of the comics were from the 1950s.
Arledge was caught after investigators learned that a person had gone to a local business trying to sell old comic books, and left a number where he could be contacted, which investigators did and set up a meeting. Making for dumb-ass #2 for the day.
