First Family To “Flip” With Release Of Special Edition Biography Comic Book

They’re the ultimate power couple. He’s the President of the United States. She’s the First Lady. And together their life stories have been “coupled” in a special edition flip comic book from Bluewater Productions.

“First Family: The Obamas”, scheduled for release October 28th, includes the unabridged issues from Bluewater’s biography comic series “Political Power: Barack Obama” and “Female Force: Michelle Obama”. A special wraparound cover by Vinnie Tartamella will combine both issues.

“Their stories are intertwined, so we thought it proper to unite their biographies into one giant 48-page issue,” said Bluewater president Darren Davis. “You read all about President Obama’s life and when you finish, you just flip the book over and you can dive into the biography of Michelle Obama.”

The respective books were penned by Neal Bailey and Chris Ward. Joshua Labello and Azim provided the pencils and inks. According to Bluewater, there will be some new artwork that wasn’t included in the original books.

“Female Force: Michelle Obama”, which was released in April, is currently in its second printing and is one of the more successful titles of the series. “Political Power: Barack Obama” will be released later this month to very positive reviews.

“Female Force” and “Political Power” offer broad examinations of strong and influential people who are shaping modern history and culture.

The comic book biography series, launched earlier this year, has drawn considerable media attention, including features on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, and “Live with Regis and Kelly.” It has also been featured in such periodicals as People Magazine, Los Angeles Times, OK Magazine, Chicago Tribune, USA Today and thousands of blogs and other media outlets.

The suggested retail price (SRP) for the upcoming one-shot is $6.99.

Pre-ordering is currently available at several outlets and bookstores using the ISBN #: 978-1-4276-4124-3

“Female Force” individual issues are also available on Amazon.com, where they have been ranked among the site’s top 300 books.
